Carbon and Energy Management Policy
Sector 8 Solutions specialises in providing flexible and affordable construction and building maintenance systems. We understand that our portfolio represents a significant challenge in terms of reducing carbon emissions. However, it is our aim to continually review and reduce our emissions continually. We are committed to understanding these challenges and finding ways to accurately measure and improve the efficiency of our company and the way we operate.
Scope and Objectives
As a business, we will work with our suppliers to reduce our carbon emissions associated with our construction activities and our suppliers manufacturing processes. We will further try to reduce our carbon impact wherever possible by increasing the amount of recycled materials that we use whilst maintaining a high quality service. To achieve our objective we recognise this requires the committed involvement of all our staff and stakeholders to achieve our corporate responsibility in terms of low carbon reduction.
• To utilise wherever possible recycled materials.
• Utilise renewable energy sources wherever possible.
• Invest in energy efficient technology.
• Increase energy efficiency at all sites.
• Reduce the impact construction has on the environment.
• Develop and implement site energy and carbon reduction plans.
• Systematically measure and test our program to monitor its performance and identify improvements.
We have invested heavily in sustainability measures that improve the carbon footprint of our office buildings. These include water miser toilet cisterns, automatic off taps with flow restrictors and water metering. Energy efficient lighting, lighting controls, time control switches, energy star rated computers and A rated electrical appliances.
The site upon which our company buildings are situated operates a waste management policy and recycling facility for all our waste. Waste removed from site is managed and sympathetically recycled wherever possible.
We extend this policy wherever possible and procure responsibly and sustainably sourced materials from our suppliers, including locally produced goods, fair trade, FSC, and recyclable content materials.
Our carbon policy is reviewed annually to ensure our goals remain up-to-date, our objectives are met and transmit this information to our employees and stake holders.
